Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the CoinNotch macOS application ("the app"), or by browsing coinnotch.app ("the site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. CoinNotch is operated as an independent project under the CoinNotch brand, based in Panama. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the app or site.
What CoinNotch is
CoinNotch is a macOS menu-bar utility that displays publicly available cryptocurrency and tokenized-asset price data for informational purposes. It does not execute trades, hold funds, connect to wallets, or manage a portfolio on your behalf.
Not financial advice
Nothing in the app, on the site, or in the blog constitutes investment, financial, legal, or tax advice. Price data, article content, and comparisons are provided for general information only. Cryptocurrency and tokenized assets are volatile and carry risk of loss; decisions about buying, holding, or selling any asset are entirely your own responsibility.
Data accuracy
Prices shown in CoinNotch are aggregated from third-party market-data providers and are provided "as is." They may be delayed, incomplete, or differ from prices on any specific exchange. CoinNotch makes no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or availability of price data, and is not liable for decisions made based on it.
Tokenized real-world assets
Tokenized stocks and other tokenized real-world assets referenced on the site and in the app are blockchain tokens that aim to track the price of an underlying asset. They are not the underlying shares, bonds, or commodities themselves, are not offered by CoinNotch, and may not be available or legal to hold in every jurisdiction, including for US persons in some cases. CoinNotch only displays price information for these tokens and does not issue, custody, or trade them.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app outside of its intended distribution channels (direct download or Setapp).
- Use automated systems to scrape or overload the site or the app's data requests in a way that disrupts service for others.
- Use the app or site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates the rights of others.
Intellectual property
The CoinNotch name, logo, app design, and site content are the property of CoinNotch unless otherwise noted. You may link to and reference the site's articles with attribution; reproducing substantial portions of the content elsewhere without permission is not permitted.
Availability
CoinNotch is provided free of charge on an "as available" basis. Features, price-data providers, or the app itself may change, be updated, or occasionally be unavailable without notice. There is no guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoinNotch and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including financial losses, arising from use of the app, the site, or any price data or content provided, including any tokenized-asset article referenced above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law in your local jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app or site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
